    Sun and heat: Standard PLA can soften or warp in hot sun or a hot car. For outdoor booths, sunny windows and anything that rides in a vehicle, pick ASA. ASA is about 35% more. ABS is available on any build.

    Custom photo lithophanes, 3D printed in El Paso

    A lithophane is a thin 3D print with your photo built into it. It looks like a plain textured panel until light shines through, then the picture appears in soft shades: thin areas glow and thick areas stay dark.

    Pick a style above: a flat photo panel or frame, a curved panel, a night light, a cylinder or vase lamp, a lampshade, a globe, a heart keepsake or a keychain. Add your photo, adjust the size and see the real part in 3D. They make lasting gifts for birthdays, weddings, anniversaries and memorials.

    Questions and answers

    What photo works best for a lithophane?

    A clear, well lit photo with good contrast, where the people or pet fill most of the frame. Very dark photos and busy backgrounds lose detail. If you are not sure, send it anyway: a person checks every design before we print it.

    Does a lithophane need a light behind it?

    Yes. The picture shows when light passes through it. The night light, lamp and lampshade styles are made to go over a light, and a flat panel looks best in a window or in front of a lamp. Tell us in your request if you need the light too.

    How do I get a price?

    Send your design from this page. A person checks it and replies, usually within one business day, with the price and a payment link. Nothing is charged until you approve.

    Will it hold up in the sun or a hot car?

    Standard PLA can soften or warp in hot sun or a hot car. For outdoor booths, sunny windows and anything that rides in a vehicle, choose ASA, our outdoor material, for about 35% more. ABS is also available on any build.

    Can I pick it up in El Paso, or do you ship?

    Both. Pick it up free at our shop at 9109 Dyer St, El Paso, TX 79924, or we ship anywhere in the United States ($7.50 flat, free on orders of $75 or more).
